Music on Only A Game
Posted by Gary, Friday, June 12th, 2009

Here’s a list of the music featured on Only A Game, June 13th, 2009.

  • Stars and Stripes Forever by Leonard Bernstein and the New York Philharmonic Orchestra

Gary’s take- A great rendition by the man and the orchestra so well known for their patriotism

  • Hormonal Roller Coaster Ride by Randy Bobish and Rebecca Kupka

Gary’s take- from the The Lighter Side of Pregnancy, a musical salute to all things gestational…I wonder if Randy or Rebecca came up with that CD title

  • Bound for the Promised Land by The Mormon Tabernacle Choir

Gary’s take- Back by popular request, so I suppose that the MTC really can substantiate their claim that they are “America’s Choir”

  • The Secret Life According to Satchel Paige by Bob Bossin

Gary’s take- from the first volume of the pretty cool Diamond Cuts series of   baseball song anthologies, the proceeds of which benefit Hungry for Music, a Baltimore charity that provides underprivileged children with instruments, musical instruction and concerts)

  • I Feel the Blues Movin’ In by Trio

Gary’s take- Dolly Parton’s apostrophe, not mine

Gary: You are a genius! But you must have heard that before! On this morning’s show after the Tennis stories, the “plop, plop, plop” music seemed to be an editorial comment that you miss the nuances of those powerful shots of the game.
No matter. The musical comments are “don’t miss” parts of the program!!
Thanks and love to all of you for my favorite program!
