Last Sunday was a disaster. The anguish, the pain, and the mournful cries of Pats fans could be heard everywhere. It’s official, Patriots quarterback Tom Brady is out for the 2008 season. It’s true, Brady’s season-ending knee injury is, without a doubt, the worse thing to ever happen. The U.S. soccer team will face off against Cuba this Saturday in Havana for a World Cup qualifying match. While the team and a few U.S. journalists have been granted permission to land on Cuban soil, U.S. soccer fans won’t be able to see the game. The LPGA recently told players that they needed to learn English, or risk losing their right to compete.  While the move might seem necessary for a league that still needs to attract more fans and corporate sponsors, Bill Littlefield isn’t convinced.

It’s official. Brett Favre is a member of the New York Jets. Because Bill Littlefield was on vacation last week, he’s scrambling now to catch up with the fast-moving world of sports. One of the more bizarre aspects of that world has been the on-going soap opera starring Favre, formerly retired, who now is preparing to play quarterback again.
