Devils No MoreAudio for http://www.bu.edu/wbur/storage/2008/06/onlyagame_0621_1.mp3 Only once in the past 11 years has the Tampa Bay Rays finished ahead of dead last in their division, and that’s when they finished second to last in 2004. That all may be changing this season. After some major adjustments to the team, including the dropping of the word “Devil” in the team’s name, Tampa Bay now finds themselves in second place in the American League East. Only A Game host Bill Littlefield talks with some team members about the sudden turn around.

The organization fired several members, most recently manager John McClaren on Thursday. Bill welcomes David Andriesen, who covers the Mariners for the Seattle Post Intelligencer to see if there is any hope of light at the end of the tunnel.

The Boston Celtics have won their 17th NBA Championship, the first in  22 years, with a series that evoked images of dynasty days gone past. Doc Rivers along with players like Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce brought the magic back to a city that had stuck by their team for so long and now have reason to celebrate.

However, that’s exactly what retired teacher Judy Lorimer is doing. For six years now, Judy has been raising money to build middle and high schools in Mali. Only A Game’s Amy Mayer joins Judy on the trail for her latest fundraising event.
