When "Only A Game" first heard about Extreme Croquet, there were tales of matches played on snow and frozen tundra with rubber balls and composite mallets, because traditional cricket equipment tends to shatter in the bitter cold. So perhaps it wasn't by accident that when Karen Given tracked down practitioners of the sport in Littleton, Massachusetts last Sunday, it was 65 degrees and sunny.
